Word For Word
by Charlotte Dwyer
Monday, March 17, 2003

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was watching you today
you won''t believe what your eyes say
when you look straight at me
and get through to me that way.

Word for word in fleeting stance
with my empty smile did dance
and then I caught myself in time
and bade my eyes away to glance.

You saw me though, you can''t deny
and word for word, we eye to eye
did say in just a moment there
much more than we meant to imply.
Thousand Roses

by Charlotte Dwyer
Saturday, March 29, 2003

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I''d leave a thousand roses,
if I thought you''d see them there,
to let you know that never
in this life I''d cease to care.

I''d cry a thousand teardrops,
if I thought you''d ever know,
how much I''ve cried in all these years,
since when you had to go.

I''d find myself a thousand blades,
and shed my blood with each,
if I thought in my demise
I''d find myself within your reach.

I''d beg a thousand nightly prayers,
if I thought I had a cause,
but how could any god so great
slay hearts as pure as yours?

Soft He Saw

by Charlotte Dwyer
Sunday, April 06, 2003

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His fearful eyes were watching, dreading
knowing true what she had planned,
he sat there- hopeless- in the corner
as she took the blade in hand.

She sat in silence, glanced to his eyes,
hers were tear-stained, scared and red
'please don't do this' soft he whispered,
'I'm so sorry' soft she said.

Unclosed eyes were lost and desperate,
as he watched her linger still,
bound by terror to his distance,
scared to tempt her speed her will.

Soft, the blade caressed her fingers,
soft, her tears fell to the floor,
soft, her skin was spoiled by bloodspill,
soft, she died and soft, he saw.
